| If you receive Llama Life II you perhaps read the article dealing with our "Gatelatch Surprises" as we laughingly refer to the kids born as a result of an improperly secured latch in August of 2002. Our young herdsire, Banana Pepper, made an unexpected call on the girl herd on August 21, 2002. At the time we found him orgling away while sitting on Sushi, we thought he had just gotten out. He was promptly haltered and confined to quarters. We were later to be amazed and somewhat dismayed to find that he had, in the brief time he was out, bred three of our girls. Fortunately none of the three were related to him. On August 14, 2003 all three girls proceeded to give birth within an hour and presented us with two boys and a girl. The kids are called Collorama's Pepper Domino, Collorama's Pepper Paul Revere and Collorama's Ace Of Spades. Pepper's sons are all named with Pepper as part of their names. As of September, 2006 both of those boys have been sold and currently reside at different farms. Domino and the third brother, Romeo, will be pets for a young family just west of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Paul Revere left to stand stud at a small farm in Iowa. His first son arrived there on July 1st. The girl, Ace Of Spades, has stayed here. Unfortunately we lost her recently and await the results of the necropsy report to tell us the reason. Pepper himself is busy making crias at Grand Harvest Llama Company. |
