| When Christmas Day of 2007 dawned we discovered that God had done His own decorating job here in central Wisconsin. Every twig, tree, fence and surface was thickly coated with absolutely gorgeous hoar frost. With minimal wind it lasted into the afternoon providing lots of photo ops. The lead in to Christmas began with an ice storm in the southern part of the state followed by snow accompanied by tremendous wind gusts. Since our company had come and gone on Saturday, we were content to let the storm do it's worst all day Sunday. Once all of the animals were taken care of it proved to be a great day to stay close to the fire. All of our llamas have snug barns where they were pretty well content to ride out the storm. The howling winds didn't make it too tempting to venture outdoors that day. By Monday things had calmed down so that plowing could commence. The banks out by the snow fencing look about 5-6 feet tall. At least tall enough for the neighbor children to have fun creating tunnels in the snow. Christmas Day dawned quiet and lovely. Our herd is healthy and frisky, all the dogs are great and Jim and I are enjoying some leisure time following a Christmas visit from our daughter. Plan a visit once the festivities of the season are behind you. Winter is a great time to get up close and personal with the herd. Our best wishes for a happy, healthy New Year. |
